May 6, 2016 was really a poor rainy day.

Fortunately, at Pier 86 in Manhattan, the USS Intrepid, an aircraft carrier, the USS Growler, a submarine, and Concorde G-BOAD, were just waiting for me.

The USS Intrepid was active from 1943 to 1974, and is now the flagship of the “Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum”.

The USS Growler, carrying nuclear missiles, meanwhile traveled the seas from 1958 to 1980.

This gallery attempts to give an account of this visit.
